How to prepare, and what to expect.

1. Make an appointment

2. Get your cat ready

Get them familiar with their carrier

A little preparation in the time leading up to your appointment can go a long way to reducing your cat’s anxiety on the day of. We recommend getting the carrier out a few days early, and making sure they feel comfortable with it. Learn more in this video

Anti-anxiety treatments

While we can’t prescribe any medications prior to your visit, if you’re concerned about your cat getting anxious, give us a call. There are some natural supplements and foods that can help calm them down prior to their visit.

3. Get yourself ready

Jot down your questions

  • Do you have any concerns?
  • Is there anything you’re curious about?
  • Have you noticed any odd behaviors? (If so, make sure to note when you first observed them)

What helps us

  • What are you feeding them?
  • Are they on any supplements or flea products?
  • If it’s their very first visit to a vet, we recommend bringing a stool sample in a plastic bag so we can check for parasites

Medical Paperwork

  • Make a list of any of their medications
  • Gather the paperwork you have from their prior vet, or your adoption paperwork

4. Plan your trip

Arrival Time

Aim to arrive 5-10 minutes before your appointment time, as there will be some paperwork to fill out.

There is free parking out front. However, if the lot is full, we validate for the paid lot behind Peet’s Coffee.

5. What to expect at your first appointment

We'll check you in

Our front desk team will get you checked in, then bring you back to an exam room. (Make sure to keep your cat in their carrier until you get back there)

We'll take some measurements

One of our technicians will come in to take some measurements, and get some basic history from you.

A doctor will talk to you

One of our doctors will come in to perform the exam, discuss what they see, answer your questions, and make any recommendations for future care.
